Just a quick note to say that I am still alive as the author of this website and that Jane, the alcoholic in question, is also still alive. Jane still has an alcoholic binge every three months and each alcoholic binge lasts about two months when you take into account the recovery time as well.
I am 76 years of age and Jane is around 72 years of age. I am sure that as you get older the chances of a fully fledged alcoholic binge of the nature that Jane enjoys is enough to kill you. The point is that any time Jane now has a four week binge and the four week recovery in hospital there's a good chance that she will die because the body becomes more fragile and the immune system more delicate et cetera.
I just think that the risk of killing yourself through acute alcoholism or the consequences of alcoholism such as falling over and cracking your head on the ground or being run over by a vehicle as you go to the nearest corner shop for two bottles of vodka, are greatly enhanced when you reach the age of 73.
It's just a question of time. There's no stopping Jane. She is committed to alcoholism. I have offered to do things for her to stop bingeing. There is a drug out at the moment which is designed to help slimming and it's effective in helping people slim because it suppresses the appetite.
It has been found that this drug can also be effective in suppressing the appetite for alcohol. That means it can help to prevent an alcoholic entry into another binge. Binges are, as mentioned, extremely dangerous to the alcoholic.
But Jane won't take this drug. I think with effort she could get her hands on it because she has a very good case to have a drug like this because she risks her life when she binges. I would like to see her try this drug which is called Wegovy.
But she has implied in her conversation with me that she has no wish to take this drug and therefore I have to presume that she has a wish to carry on bingeing. I know for a fact that she doesn't mind dying. In fact, I think she wants to go over the rainbow bridge as soon as possible. I just hope it doesn't happen in the most ugly of ways namely as a result of a terrible alcoholic binge.

I'd like to hear the experiences of both alcoholics and the victims of alcoholics, please.
